04.03.2002 In order to provide better authoring environments for 3D artists, blaxxun has improved the standard VRML97 Exporter utility of Max 4. The new blaxxun VRML exporter serves in 3 ways: - as a plugin for Max 4, in order to extend the available VRML helpers towards blaxxun VRML extension nodes - as an enhanced exporter that optimizes the VRML output and supports several blaxxun extensions - as a wizard application that helps creating a html page for the 3D content. The following features are available with this exporter plugin: - MultiTexturing and Environment mapping support - Particle system - NURBS support - H-Anim2001 support - Layer2D/Layer3D support - per object crease angle - Collision node support - improvements on several other VRML helpers - VRML output optimization + gzip compression - Wizard for 'ready-to-go'-web publishing |

14.02.2002 The VirtuaLight VIB Exporter allows you to export your scene directly from Max to the VIB format used by the VirtuaLight GI Renderer. The plugin supports export of scene files (*.VIB), shader files (*.VS) and geometry (*.MSH). The following features are supported: - Colours and bitmaps can be used for the background. - All objects are converted to VirtuaLight binary meshes. - UV mapping supported. - Smoothing groups are NOT yet supported. - Target spots and omni lights are supported. - If no lights are in the scene, Sunlight and Skylight are automatically added. - Target cameras are supported. Free cameras must be changed to target cameras before exporting. - Particle systems are NOT supported at present. - Standard materials are supported. - Diffuse, reflection, opacity and bump maps are exported. - Bitmaps and AVI mappings are supported. - Procedural textures are supported. - Blinn and Phong shaders are supported, all other get converted to Cook.
